Regeneration

THE
VISION

The vision for Westgrove is regeneration, sustainability and community.

The vision respects and retains the positive aspects and features of a much loved existing community, and by building it back better, the local community will develop and thrive for generations to come.

Consultation with residents from the outset has ensured their voices are heard, and their needs informed the vision for this exciting regeneration project. Response to their feedback has shaped the development of the final design proposals.

KEY
ASPECTS

To provide a safe and comfortable living environment for residents of all ages, from young, singles and families to retirees.

Key aspects for consideration in creating our vision include:

Retaining elements of the existing landscaping, such as the magnificant mature Cedar, Oak and Lime trees on the site.

Where possible using traditional, durable and local materials. The finishes have been chosen from a warm, natural palette, to complement and enhance the landscaped setting.

To incorporate shared surfaces, which prioritise pedestrian movement with additional planting to soften the outlook from the apartments. Shared amenity spaces are also within easy access of all properties.

To encourage biodiversity, through such measures as incorporating seeded brown roofs to the apartment buildings, which will vary slightly in height, to provide a less uniform outlook to the site.

THE
DEVELOPMENT

Designed for comfort, security and ease of living, Westgrove provides a green haven for residents of all ages.

Set in landscaped gardens, a short walk from local shops, several bus routes and less than a mile from Hendon Central Tube Station, Westgrove is a convenient and peaceful place to live.

Retaining the beautiful parkland qualities of the existing site with it’s mature trees, all the new buildings respond to and engage with natural landscape, enhancing the relationship between buildings and nature.

The synergy between buildings and landscape has been pivotal in designing a scheme which integrates within the landscape. The space between the buildings provides a variety of uses to encourage a vibrant, socially sustainable community.

Amenity spaces will benefit residents of all ages and mobilities, utilizing the attractive natural landscape. For example: tree trunks from removed trees will provide creative play equipment or seating, and landscaped mounds created from site works will add attractive spaces to explore along with landscaped trails and pedestrian routes throughout the scheme.

This thoughtfully designed development of 251 homes consists of a mix of building types, with Apartment Buildings, Terraced Houses and Retirement Living.

Homes for Private Sale and Shared Ownership include: 1, 2 & 3 Bedroom Apartments and 3 & 4 Bedroom Terraced Houses offering spacious accommodation with quality Fitted Kitchens, Luxury Bathrooms and Balconied Units with views of the landscaped grounds. The buildings vary in height from 3 to 7 storeys, optimizing privacy and views over the landscape for residents.

With the emphasis on building a high quality, environmentally sustainable community, the development includes green roofs, concealed photo voltaic panels and uses natural and local materials wherever possible.

DESIGNING FOR THE
FUTURE

Sustainability is fundamental to the new development and we are committed to adopting high environmental standards throughout the scheme.

Our aim is to:
Be Lean: Use less energy
Be Clean: Supply energy efficiently
Be Green: Use renewable energy.

We plan to site photo voltaic panels on the majority of buildings, install high efficiency individual boilers and maximise natural light and ventilation to communal areas. Sustainable drainage systems, through permeable surface treatments to capture and retain water in underground tanks are also planned.
